Freelance Journalism
While on tour, Dorian found himself at a loose end in remote country towns before going on stage that evening. So he began to write down his observations, eventually submitting them to magazines. Editor’s quickly came to appreciate his unique lens and wry sense of humour. He was initially published in Australian Traveller Magazine, eventually becoming a columnist in the magazine.
Since then, Dorian has penned features for The Age, The Australian and Sydney Morning Herald and Brisbane Times, and wrote an absurdist column for the Weekend Telegraph, called Beachcomber. He was also the back page columnist for Storyline, The Australian Writer’s Guild Magazine. For the last fifteen years he has written for NRMA’s Open Road Magazine and leading travel magazines.
